Joint Economic Development Website Launch

Stronger Together business development toolkit
The Economic Development departments for the Town of Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County have jointly launched an online Business Development Tool Kit to help existing and potential businesses, and site selectors, easily access information about the local economy, demographics and business environment.
“This tool will provide a lot of information quickly to businesses looking at building or expanding,” said Jeff Hartling, Economic Development Officer for Rocky Mountain House. “It can help them identify opportunities that they might want to invest in.”

The tool kit covers the following topics:
• Local business climate
• Industry trends
• Land use and zoning
• Labour force and education
• Environmental conditions
• Community facilities

The site complements the existing economic development and planning materials on each municipality’s websites.

“As companies make plans they need to know what the business environment is like. The Business Development Tool Kit brings a lot of that data into one place for those businesses,” said Jerry Pratt, Economic Development Officer for Clearwater County.

The site was created by Canadian technology firm LocalIntel and developed through a cost-sharing program with the Central Alberta Economic Partnership.

A link can be found on each municipality’s website under the Economic Development section or at
