The Downtown Steering Committee is open to all downtown businesses and property owners and provides input on a number of town initiatives for downtown revitalization.

Purpose
The Downtown Steering Committee was initiated by the town in the summer of 2011 to replace the Downtown BRZ and to provide a voice for the Downtown business community in providing input on town-led downtown projects.

Past Projects
Since its inception, the Downtown Steering Committee has provided input into the following successful projects:
  • “Marketplace on Main” summer market event
  • Architectural guidelines document
  • Directional signage project
  • Downtown Storefront Improvement Grant program
  • Main street infrastructure improvements project
  • Provided recommendations into the revised Land Use Bylaw 11/11 LU.
  • Temporary use of public property licenses (i.e. for seasonal patios, sidewalk sales, mobile vending)
