Black Canyon Creek
The trail starts at the day use in the Fish Lake Recreation area 6km west of Nordegg on Hwy 11. On this trail you will see two viewpoints, Saskatchewan River Valley and Black Canyon Creek Gorge.
  • Distance: 18km

Coliseum Mountain
The trail starts at the Coliseum Trail Staging area parking lot on the Shunda road 1km west of Nordegg on Hwy 11. This trail has many great views. When you reach the top you will see lots of stone rubble, which are the remains of the first fire lookout in Alberta.

Eagle Mountain
To access this trail turn south on an unmarked gravel road 9 km east of Nordegg on Hwy 11. Follow this road until it forks and stay to the right. Park on the east side of the old Forestry woodlot. Once you reach the summit there is a 360-degree panorama from Coliseum and Shunda mountains to the Brazeau Range and beyond.

Siffleur Falls Trails
To access this trail park your vehicle at the Siffleur Falls Staging area 62km West of Nordegg on Hwy 11. This is one of the most popular Biking / Hiking trails in the Kootenay Plains.

Canary Creek Trails
This trail is accessible down the forestry trunk road at the Humming Bird Rec. Area. The best traveling time for this trail is mid June to mid October because you have to ford Onion Creek.

Humming Creek Trail
This trail is accessible down the Hwy 734 to the Onion Creek Road. After reaching the creek, you can continue to the headwaters of the North Ram River. A great view of the surrounding area can be seen off a high column above Humming Bird Creek.

Shunda / Baldy Mountain Lookout Trail
This trail is accessible from the Shunda Creek Rec. Area. This trail is rough and rocky and has limited views along the way. Once you reach the lookout you will see panoramic views of Nordegg and the surrounding Front Ranges. 
  • Distance: 6.5km 

Figure Eight Walk
To access this trail park at the Siffleur falls staging area 62km west of Nordegg on Hwy 11. This is ideal for families. Experience the beauty of the Kootenay Plains.
  • Distance: 3.4km

Heritage Trail
This trail is also accessed from the Siffleur Falls staging area. The trail begins left of the public washrooms and takes you to a Stoney Indian Burial grounds. 
  • Distance: 3.9km

Icefalls Trail Loop
This one also is accessible at the Siffleur Falls staging area. You will see some gorgeous Sundance lodges as well as icefalls.
  • Distance: 7.2 km
