Town of Rocky Mountain House Statement on COVID-19 Stage 2 Relaunch
The Town of Rocky Mountain House is eager to resume operation of all our public facilities. However, we must continue to do our part to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 in accordance with all public health orders.
Municipalities had no advanced notice that swimming pools and indoor recreation facilities would be moved to Stage 2 of the provincial relaunch strategy. The Town of Rocky Mountain House needs time to fully meet the guidance requirements and our COVID-19 risk mitigation obligations under the Public Health Act to ensure we can safely reopen to staff and public.
Recreation and indoor sports are subject to 15 pages of restrictions. A decision and timeline for reopening the Fitness Centre at the Christenson Sports & Wellness Centre will be announced by June 19.
The Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre annual shutdown is underway and capital improvements (sand filters and sound baffles) are being installed. Aug. 10 is the tentative reopening date.
Sports fields and the Lou Soppit Community Centre are open for bookings. Users are responsible for adhering to Public Health Orders and applicable guidance documents.
