Notice of Intent
Per the Local Authorities Election Act, candidates intending to run for the 2025 election for the position of Mayor or Councillor must register their notice of intent with the Elections Office before accepting campaign contribution or incurring campaign expenses.
A prospective candidate can submit their notice of intent at any time during the campaign period.
How to Submit your Notice of Intent
- Fill out the Notice of Intent in full.
- Submit the completed form to the Returning Officer in one of the following ways:

Please note: Candidates that register their Notice of Intent to Run are not exempt from submitting their official nomination forms with required signatories which will be accepted beginning January 1, 2025 through to Nomination Day or September 22, 2025.
