Disc Golf Course

July 28, 2025

The Town of Rocky Mountain House has begun preparations for the new disc golf course installation. The 9-hole course is being installed on Town-owned land adjacent to the multi-use trail.

In order to accommodate the course, the Town has completed vegetation management, including mulching, in the area.

As part of the 2025 capital budget, Town Council approved $40,000 for the installation of a Disc Golf Course.

Disc golf was identified in the 2021 Recreation Master Plan Update, it is a low-impact sport that people of all ages and skill levels can play. The course will be free to play and the equipment itself is quite inexpensive - only one disc is needed to start playing the game (average cost of $10-$20 each).

A Disc Golf Course weaves its way through the natural landscape. Installation requires minimal impact to the area. Disc Golf Courses have been installed along existing trail systems in several communities. Signage is posted and the course is designed to mitigate issues between users, with players yielding to trail users at all times.
