Paper Bill Fee

Starting July 2026, a $2.00 fee will be added to all paper utility bills.

Producing and mailing paper utility bills is a significant cost. Utility customers who choose to receive a paper bill will be charged a fee to cover these costs starting on their July utility bill.

The printing and mailing costs were previously included in the utility rates. By shifting how we recover these costs, the Town of Rocky Mountain House can help keep overall rate increases as low as possible.

To continue to receive bills for free, utility customers can change their billing preference from paper to email. Sign up for eBilling here.

Electronic Billing (eBilling)

Get your utility bill by email, instead of mail. You will need to provide your property address, email address, and account number to sign up for eBilling. Sign up for eBilling here.

Benefits of eBilling:

  • Save money: by switching to eBilling you avoid the Paper Bill Fee.
  • Save time: the eBilling service sends your bill to your inbox as soon as it is ready.
  • Environmentally friendly: going digital reduces paper use.

Set Up, Change or Terminate Utility Services

If you are a property owner and your name appears, or will appear, on title, you are responsible to use the New Account or Termination of Account form to end services or apply for new services and return it to the Town Office or email to utilities@trmh.ca

In accordance with the Town's Fees, Rates and Charges Bylaw, a Connection/Administration Fee of $50 is applied to all new utility accounts.

Utility accounts are created and remain in the property owner's name. As a property owner, if you would like your tenant to receive a copy of the property's utility bill, please complete the Duplicate Invoice Agreement form and return to the Town Office or email to utilities@trmh.ca

Updating Account Information

You are responsible for paying your utility invoice on time. It is your responsibility to ensure the Town of Rocky Mountain House has your current contact information on file. This minimizes missed payments, and will ensure any remaining deposits or final billings are sent to the proper address.

If you are moving or otherwise making any changes to your mailing address, name or telephone number, please let us know by completing a Change of Details form and returning it to utilities@trmh.ca.
