Health and Safety Policy
Council approved a new Health and Safety Policy in accordance with the Health and Safety Act. The policy establishes the Town’s safety program to protect employees, facilities, contractors and the general public. This policy lays out the shared responsibilities of both employer and employee with the goal of preventing incidents that could cause injuries, or property damage It also lays out the requirement that any contractor meet the Town’s Health & Safety standards.

Facility booking policy
Council approved a Town Facility Rental Policy. The policy identifies the process to be followed when dealing with repeat bookings, casual and non-regular rental inquiries as well as seasonal facility rentals. The new policy will allow for standardization of terminology in the rental agreements which will reduce possible misunderstandings. The policy also standardizes the process of implementation of the rental rates and fees, deposits, cancellation and postponement of rentals.

Delegation: Central Alberta Economic Partnership
Council welcomed a delegation from the Central Alberta Economic Partnership (CAEP), to learn about CAEP’s current initiatives: a transportation and utility corrido service Central Alberta and a Central Alberta Economic Growth Strategy. Council had previously tendered notice that the Town of Rocky Mountain House will withdraw from CAEP membership in November. Council agreed to review that decision ahead of the 2021 budget deliberations.
Organizational Meeting
Council holds an Organizational Meeting each October to appoint councillors to various municipal, inter-municipal and external boards and committees. Council also set its meeting schedule for the upcoming year and selected public members for the following committees:

Finally, Councillors did an annual review the Council Code of Conduct Bylaw 2018/13V and the Council Procedural Bylaw 2018/16V.
