Typically starting in late April to early May, the annual street sweeping program cleans up all the sand, dirt and debris left on the street from the winter season. Street sweeping is scheduled once all the snow has melted off streets and boulevards.
Residents are asked to obey NO PARKING signage when posted in residential neighbourhoods to allow operators to do a thorough job. There is a $100 fine for failing to observe NO PARKING signs in street sweeping areas, as per the Traffic Bylaw. Engineering & Operations crews will work on street sweeping between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
