Council Code of Conduct

The public is entitled to expect the highest standards of conduct from the members that it elects to council for the Town of Rocky Mountain House.

Pursuant to section 146.1(1) of the Municipal Government Act (MGA), Council has established Council Code of Conduct Bylaw 2022/14. This code of conduct ensures that members of council share a common understanding of acceptable conduct extending beyond the legislative provisions of the MGA.

As of January 2023, the bylaw was updated to provide for members of the public to file formal complaints. This process is outlined in section 18 of the bylaw.

On June 6, 2023, Council passed the following resolution:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council release all complaints, investigation reports, response letters, fees paid and any other pertinent information on all code of conduct complaints as per the addition of the change in the bylaw to include public complaints.
