Current career opportunities with the Town of Rocky Mountain House:

The Town is seeking three energetic, dynamic individuals for the position of Summer Day Camp Leader. The successful candidates will be strongly devoted to public service, be team orientated, innovative and result driven. Summer Day Camp Leaders will be part of a great team in ensuring the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of campers from ages 6-11 for the Summer Day Camp program.

You will be working in a vibrant community of 6,800 at the doorstep to the Rocky Mountains and outdoor adventure. We have all the amenities and more. Living in Rocky Mountain House you can experience live arts, concerts, all sports or belong to one of the multiple community organizations. Town amenities include the Rocky Regional Recreation Centre, the Cooperative Aquatic Centre, skateboard park, ball diamonds, parks, extensive trail system and playgrounds. Your co-workers are focused on providing great public service and having fun while doing so.   

As a key player in our team, you will have the following qualifications:

  • Enjoy working with children.
  • Teamwork and cooperation.
  • Strong communication skills (oral), listening skills, ability to ask questions.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, punctual, and able to take ownership of your actions.
  • Independent decision-making, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Organized, accurate and efficient in completion of duties.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to interact with others in an effective manner.
  • First Aid/CPR is preferred.
  • Canada Summer Jobs Placement Minimum of 16 years of age.

Specific duties include:

  • Ensure the safety, well-being, and enjoyment of campers from ages 6-11 for the Summer Day Camp program.
  • Develops and fosters relationships through professional, courteous, and efficient service to parents and campers alike.
  • Plan and supervise recreational activities for campers.
  • Supervise campers during before and after care.
  • Communicate in a professional and timely manner with parents, campers, and staff.
  • Adhere to all camp processes and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

 This position is a full-time 40-hours per week for 9 weeks, contract position from June 29 - August 28, 2026 (Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM)
