Current career opportunities with the Town of Rocky Mountain House:

The Town is seeking an energetic, dynamic individual for the position of Public Works Operator I (roads). The successful candidate will be strongly devoted to public service, be team orientated, innovative and results-driven. This person will be part of a great team that operates and maintains the Town’s network of roads, lanes, alleys, and sidewalks. They will also assist with water/sewer/storm infrastructure, cemetery, parks, and fleet.

You will be working in a vibrant community of 6,800 at the doorstep to the Rocky Mountains and outdoor adventure. We have all the amenities and more. Living in Rocky Mountain House you can experience live arts, concerts, all sports or belong to one of the multiple community organizations. As a key player in our team you will have or be willing to achieve the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.  
  • Valid Class 3 with Air endorsement drivers licence 
  • First Aid & CPR
  • Organized, self-directed and able to complete jobs assigned with minimal supervision.
  • Able to actively participate in a team setting. 
  • Willing to take additional training and learn new skills.
  • Willing and able to do physically demanding work, outside, in all weather conditions.

This person will be part of a great team in providing Maintenance services to outdoor facilities including but not limited to Parks, Playgrounds, Walking Trails and Green spaces to Rocky Mountain House.

You will be working in a vibrant community of 6,800 at the doorstep to the Rocky Mountains and outdoor adventure. We have all the amenities and more. As a key player in our team, you will have or willing to achieve the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.  
  • Parks Inspection Level 1.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License,
  • First Aid & CPR, 
  • Two (2) years of directly related experience in open space maintenance, or park maintenance.
  • Proficient in the use of common computer software packages used to conduct business (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Organized, self-directed and able to function with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to take additional training and learn new skills.
  • Ability to deal with the public and staff in an effective and professional manner.

Marketplace on Main Attendant

The Town of Rocky Mountain House is seeking energetic, dynamic individuals to work as Marketplace on Main attendants this summer. The successful candidates will be strongly devoted to public service, team-oriented, and results-driven. This person will be part of a great team in providing leadership, planning and coordination of the Town’s Marketplace on Main event each Thursday from June 29 through August 31, 2023.  

As a key player on our team, you will have the following qualifications:

  • Experience working with the public and Market vendors.
  • Enjoy working with the public.
  • Teamwork and cooperation.
  • Strong communication skills, listening skills, ability to ask questions.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, punctual, able to take ownership for your actions.
  • Organized, accurate and efficient in completion of duties.
  • Good interpersonal skills to interact with others in an effective manner.

Specific duties include:

  • Assisting with the set-up and take down of Market materials.
  • Monitor crowd control.
  • Communicating any issue(s) with Market Coordinator and team members.
  • Assisting vendors were need with tent set-up.
  • Have FUN.

This position is a casual 6 hours per week for 10 weeks, contract position from June 29 - August 31, 2023.
