The Town is seeking an energetic, dynamic individual for the position of Junior Lifeguard. The successful candidate will be strongly devoted to public service, be team orientated, innovative and results -driven. This person will be part of a great team in providing good public relations, quality instruction, assist in water chemistry readings, cash register and janitorial duties at the Aquatic Centre.

You will be working in a vibrant community of 6,800 at the doorstep to the Rocky Mountains and outdoor adventure. We have all the amenities and more. Living in Rocky Mountain House you can experience live arts, concerts, all sports or belong to one of the multiple community organizations. Town amenities include the Rocky Regional Recreation Centre, the Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre, skateboard park, ball diamonds, parks, extensive trail system and playgrounds. Your co-workers are focused on providing great public service and having fun while doing so.   

As a key player in our team you will have or willing to achieve the following qualifications:

  • 16 years of age 
  • National lifeguard
  • Swim and Life Saving Instructor an asset
  • Standard First Aid 
  • C.P.R.  and AED
  • WHMIS and OH&S training

The successful candidates will be strongly devoted to public service, be team orientated, innovative and result driven. This person will be part of a great team in providing good public relations, lifeguarding, quality instruction, water chemistry readings, procedures of cash register and janitorial duties at the Aquatic Centre.

You will be working in a vibrant community of 6,800 at the doorstep to the Rocky Mountains and outdoor adventure. We have all the amenities and more. As a key player in our team you will have or willing to achieve the following qualifications: 

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Minimum of 3 months experience working at the Rocky Mountain House pool or equivalent experience
  • Must conduct a one-hour staff training in-service
  • National Lifeguard, Swim & Lifesaving Instructor Certifications.
  • Government of Alberta Approved Standard First Aid an asset.
  • WHIMIS  and OH&S training
  • Jr. lifeguard experience
  • Cash experience

The successful candidate will be strongly devoted to public service, be team-orientated, innovative and result-driven. This person will be part of a great team in providing front desk reception to patrons of the Aquatic Centre including cashier work and maintaining the front lobby and office.

You will be working in a vibrant community of 6,800 at the doorstep to the Rocky Mountains and outdoor adventure. We have all the amenities and more. Living in Rocky Mountain House you can experience live arts, concerts, all sports or belong to one of the multiple community organizations. Town amenities include the Rocky Regional Recreation Centre, the Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre, skateboard park, ball diamonds, parks, extensive trail system and playgrounds. Your co-workers are focused on providing great public service and having fun while doing so.   

As a key player in our team you will have or willing to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication in English and ability to communicate well with all ages and ethnic groups. 
  • Basic Computer Knowledge. (Will be trained on Recreation Booking and Point of Sale system)
  • Minimum 15 years of age.
  • Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED preferred.  
  • Able to assist in an emergency associated with the Aquatic Centre.
  • Desire to pursue a career as a Lifeguard/Swim Instructor Certifications may be an asset.
  • Must be available evenings and weekends.
