The Town is seeking an energetic, dynamic individual for the position of Recreation & Community Services Support Clerk. The successful candidate will be strongly devoted to public service, be team orientated, innovative and result driven. This person will be part of a great team in providing a variety of clerical duties for the Recreation and Community Services Department including bookings of specific facilities to the Town of Rocky Mountain House. This position is the assistant to the Director of Community Services.

You will be working in a vibrant community of 6,800 at the doorstep to the Rocky Mountains and outdoor adventure. We have all the amenities and more. Living in Rocky Mountain House you can experience live arts, concerts, all sports or belong to one of the multiple community organizations. Town amenities include the Rocky Regional Recreation Centre, the Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre, skateboard park, spray park, ball diamonds, parks, extensive trail system and playgrounds. As a key player in our team you will have or willing to achieve the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Post-secondary training in recreation or business administration or equivalency preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel, email and experience with the internet.
  • Criminal Record Check with a “Vulnerable Sector Check” is a condition of employment.
  • Child Welfare Services “Intervention Check” is a condition of employment.
  • First Aid/CPR is required.

The successful candidate will be strongly devoted to public service, be team-orientated, innovative and results-driven. This person will be part of a great team and will be responsible for managing the Rural Renewal Stream Program and assisting with other aspects of economic development for the Town of Rocky Mountain House.

The Rural Renewal Stream supports the attraction and retention of newcomers to rural Alberta through a community-driven approach that supports local economic development needs and contributes to the growth of the community. The Rural Renewal Stream empowers rural communities to recruit and retain foreign nationals to live, work and settle in their communities.

Reporting to the Economic Development Officer, this part-time position will implement, administer and manage the Town of Rocky Mountain House Rural Renewal Stream Program. The position will be the direct contact for business applicants and candidates, providing excellent customer service through timely response and professional communication.

As a key player in our team you will have or be willing to achieve the following qualifications:

  • Experience in business administration, economics or marketing,
  • Thorough knowledge of the region’s features and stakeholders
  • Proven positive track record in dealing with business interests.
  • Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders including local businesses and the provincial government
  • You will be expected to become educated on the provincial program and able to respond to any questions or inquiries.

This is a part-time position working 17.5 hours per week.

Marketplace on Main Attendant

The Town of Rocky Mountain House is seeking energetic, dynamic individuals to work as Marketplace on Main attendants this summer. The successful candidates will be strongly devoted to public service, team-oriented, and results-driven. Attendants will be part of a great team responsible for assisting with set-up & clean-up, monitoring safe procedures, fostering good customer service relationships for the Town’s Marketplace on Main event each Thursday from June 27 through August 29, 2024.  

As a key player on our team, you will have the following qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer service focus
  • Teamwork and cooperation
  • Ability to communicate, negotiate and have influencing skills.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Independent decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good Leadership and team-building skills to foster a positive working environment where fellow staff can excel in meeting the needs of market customers.

This position is a casual position of 6 hours per week for 10 weeks.

The successful candidate will be strongly devoted to public service, be team orientated, innovative and result driven. This person will be part of a great team in providing good public relations, lifeguarding, quality instruction, water chemistry readings, procedures of cash register and janitorial duties at the Aquatic Centre.

You will be working in a vibrant community of 6,800 at the doorstep to the Rocky Mountains and outdoor adventure. We have all the amenities and more. Living in Rocky Mountain House you can experience live arts, concerts, all sports or belong to one of the multiple community organizations. Town amenities include the Rocky Regional Recreation Centre, the Credit Union Co-op Aquatic Centre, skateboard park, spray park, ball diamonds, parks, extensive trail system and playgrounds. Your co-workers are focused on providing great public service and having fun while doing so.   

As a key player in our team you will have or be willing to achieve the following qualifications: 

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Minimum of 3 months experience working at the Rocky Mountain House pool or equivalent experience
  • Must conduct a one-hour staff training in-service
  • National Lifeguard, Swim & Lifesaving Instructor Certifications.
  • Government of Alberta Approved Intermediate First Aid.
  • WHIMIS  and OH&S training
  • Jr. lifeguard experience
  • Cash experience
