The Town is seeking an energetic, dynamic individual for the position of Full-Time Airport Supervisor. The successful candidate will be strongly devoted to public service, be team orientated, innovative and result driven. This person will be part of a great team in providing maintenance and customer support to the Rocky Mountain House Aerodrome.

You will be working in a vibrant community of 6,800 at the doorstep to the Rocky Mountains and outdoor adventure. We have all the amenities and more.   • Related experience in the field of aviation
  • Restricted Air Radio Licence
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver Operators License
  • Have a mechanical aptitude 
  • Experience in operating grass cutting and snow removal equipment
  • Ability to maintain excellent public relations with airport users and the public
  • Must be able to work irregular hours 
  • Fire Extinguisher Training
  • First Aid, CPR, Dangerous Goods and WHIMIS

The successful candidate will be strongly devoted to public service, be team orientated, innovative and result driven. This person will be part of a great team providing overall leadership and team building skills to the aquatic staff. They will ensure the safe and efficient daily operations of the aquatic centre, direct supervision and mentoring of staff on shift and daily aquatics area maintenance.

  • Standard first aid and CPR “C” with AED.
  • National Lifeguard Instructor.
  • Water Safety Instructor Trainer.
  • Lifesaving Instructor.
  • Pool Operators 1.

The Town is seeking an energetic, dynamic individual for the position of a Temporary Full Time Summer Administrative (Finance) Clerk from June 1, 2021 – Aug 31, 2021. The successful candidate will be strongly devoted to public service, be team orientated, innovative and result driven. This person will be part of a great team answering telephone and in person inquires regarding utilities, property taxes, animal licencing, accounts receivable, etc. and directing calls to the appropriate person. Cash functions, including reception of payments of cash, cheque, debit and credit cards and daily balancing of those payments.   Collect, open and sort incoming mail, filing, preparation, and scanning documents.  Provide vacation coverage as required. Providing support to the Finance Team over the Summer.

  • This position can be filled by either a student currently enrolled in a business program that is returning to school in the fall of 2021 or someone that is interested in a casual call-in position through out the year.
  • High school diploma is required.  
  • Business courses and accounting experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a busy office and deal with customers either on the phone or in person in a professional manner.
  • Experience with cash receipting and balancing bank deposits is preferred.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a computerized environment with a broad base knowledge of computer applications. 
  • Strong communication skills.

This person will be responsible for aspects of urban and development planning, land administration and to ensure the Municipal Government Act, Town of Rocky Mountain House’s Land Use Bylaw and related planning documents are adhered to.

The minimum experience required to perform these duties are:

  • Two (2) years of applicable experience in a planning and development environment.
  • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings.
  • Some introductory familiarity with drafting, AutoCAD and/or G.I.S. systems.
  • Ability to deal with developers, government agencies and the public with sensitivity, and in a courteous, diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Teamwork and cooperation.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and balance a number of projects at the same time.
  • Independent decision-making, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Staff supervision and leadership skills.
