Under Section 7 of the Municipal Government Act (MGA) of Alberta, Town Council establishes bylaws for municipal purposes, including the safety, health, and welfare of people, the protection of people and property, and activities respecting public places, nuisances, businesses, and the enforcement of bylaws within its geographical boundaries.
