WATER METER REPLACEMENT PROGRAM

Water Meter Replacement Program

The Town of Rocky Mountain House is launching its water meter replacement program the week of March 22, 2021.

Approximately 1,500 water meters will be replaced with radio-read meters.

Radio-read meters will eliminate system-estimated invoices and streamline the utility billing cycle. This means more accurate water bills for property-owners, and more efficient administration of Town operations.

This is a mandatory program. Meters will be replaced by neighbourhood over the next 10 weeks. When technicians are working in your area, you will receive a doorhanger with information and instructions on how to book an appointment for a technician to complete the meter change on your property.

The upgrade procedure requires approximately 30-90 minutes to complete, during which time the water will be shut off for a brief period. There is no charge for the meter or the installation.

This capital project is being funded through the Town’s utility reserve and Federal Gas Tax. It was approved in the 2020 Capital budget, but delayed last year due to Covid-19.
