Blue bins have arrived
The Town of Rocky Mountain House will provide blue bins to residents in 2023.
The first shipment of blue bins has arrived! A manufacturing delay pushed the delivery of blue bins later than we had hoped, but now that the first two truckloads have arrived, Town staff will begin rolling them out to residents.
The limited supply of small bins is reserved for the households that requested the 240L size earlier this year.
All other residents will receive a 360L bin.
Thank you for your patience as Town staff assemble and deliver the bins in the coming weeks.

Since the curbside collection recycling program was introduced in May 2022, the Town of Rocky Mountain House has had many requests for blue bins to help residents manage their mixed recycling materials. Blue bins will also speed up curbside collection, and reduce windblown materials.
You may start using your blue bin as soon as you receive it. Once your household receives your blue bin, you will no longer need to provide clear or blue bags for your mixed recyclable materials. Please place your clean recyclables loosely in the bin.
All curbside recyclable material must fit inside your bin at the curb. Once all households have their blue bins, the collection truck will no longer collect bags or overside cardboard at the curb.
What goes in your blue bin?
Blue bins are for paper, cardboard, tin/foil, and rigid numbered plastics only.
Glass, electronics, batteries and other divertible materials still need to be taken directly to the Eco Centre.
