Alberta Transportation: paving Hwy.11 and Hwy. 11A within the Town of Rocky Mountain House

Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors will begin construction on Hwy. 11 and Hwy. 11A within the Town of Rocky Mountain House on or about July 7, 2025.

The project includes:

  • Paving 3 kilometres of Hwy. 11 from 53 Avenue (Lou Soppit Community Centre access) north to Hwy. 22.
  • Paving 2 kilometres of Hwy. 11A (52 Avenue) from the North Saskatchewan River east to Hwy. 11.
  • Improvements such as concrete, sidewalks, street lights, traffic signal timing adjustments, pedestrian crossings and signage at the following intersections:
    • Hwy. 11 & 22 north
    • Hwy. 11 & Wastewater Treatment access
    • Hwy. 11 & 61 Avenue
    • Hwy. 11 & 59 Avenue
    • Hwy. 11 & 53 Avenue
    • Hwy. 11 & 52 Avenue
    • Hwy. 11 & 47 Avenue
    • Hwy. 11A & 60 Street.

The entire project will take approximately two months, with the main work of milling, paving and line painting scheduled for between July 24 and August 16, weather permitting. The lead contractor is Aecon Transportation Ltd.

Please obey all posted signage and directions from flagspeople. Expect crews and equipment working between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily for the duration of the project; however there will be no active work during the August long weekend.
