Backyard fire pits allowed

Town of Rocky Mountain House: Backyard fires permitted

Safe backyard fires are permitted within the Town of Rocky Mountain House corporate limits. Always use a proper fire pit and never leave a fire unattended.

Please monitor www.albertafirebans.ca throughout the spring and summer. If conditions merit the Town of Rocky Mountain House can impose a fire advisory/restriction/ban that would affect your backyard fire pit. These will also be communicated via our website and facebook page.

Provincial fire ban now in place in forest protection area and provincial parks

The Government of Alberta has imposed a fire ban in the Forest Protection Area, provincial parks and protected areas effective April 15. The ban includes David Thompson Country west of Rocky Mountain House.

The fire ban will ensure the province can effectively focus resources where they are needed most in the event of multiple emergencies happening at the same time during the pandemic.

Please monitor albertafirebans.ca for updates.
